Principal's Notes:
Talking about Reading…………
As a school, we have focused on developing good habits as readers.  To date, all students have leaned about:

*seeing themselves as readers--ask your child how to choose a book
*making sense of text--ask your child to make predictions
*using what they know--ask your child about making connections
*understanding stories-
-ask your child to retell a story and to include the character’s names,  the setting, the problem and the solution.

We have 3 more habits that we will all learn about together this year and are looking forward to the further increases in achievement, but also just want all students to learn to love to read!
